HYDRA Showcases Scientific Progress at ICSET 2025.

From 22 to 26 June 2025, the HYDRA project proudly participated in the ICSET 2025 – International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies, held in the beautiful setting of Lipari, Italy.

With over 250 participants from academia, research, and industry, ICSET 2025 provided a vibrant platform to exchange ideas on the future of clean and sustainable energy systems.

HYDRA was represented by Dr. Maria Chiesa of Tinexta Innovation Hub, who led a highly engaging poster session on behalf of the consortium.

The poster, titled “The HYDRA Project: Evaluating Benefits and Risks of a Future Hydrogen Economy”, showcased the project’s interdisciplinary work on hydrogen emissions, policy analysis, and innovative leakage monitoring technologies.

The scientific content — contributed collaboratively by all project partners — highlighted:

🔹 HYDRA framework and workflow
🔹 Estimation of H2 leakages under different development scenarios
🔹 Progress on the development of HYDRA hydrogen leakage detection device
🔹 Comparison between surface abundance of H2 modelled by FRSGC/UCI and station observations

The poster session sparked great interest and valuable discussions, especially around HYDRA’s approach to understanding the risks and opportunities of large-scale hydrogen adoption.

This participation marked another important milestone for the project’s dissemination and engagement strategy, reinforcing HYDRA’s role in supporting a safe and sustainable hydrogen transition.
