The HYDRA project was showcased at the ISIE SEM Conference 2026, held in Cambridge from July 5th to the 8th, 2026, through the participation of Juan Manuel Campos Rodriguez from the University of Valladolid (UVa). During the event, he presented a scientific poster entitled “A Systems Analysis of Net Energy and Critical Materials for EU Hydrogen Deployment”, highlighting key research activities and preliminary findings developed within the HYDRA project.
The contribution reflects HYDRA’s commitment to advancing a robust understanding of the opportunities and challenges linked to Europe’s hydrogen transition. In particular, the analysis addresses the need to balance ambitious decarbonisation targets with the responsible use of strategic resources, contributing to ongoing discussions on the long-term sustainability of hydrogen value chains.
Participation in the ISIE SEM Conference offered an important opportunity to disseminate HYDRA’s research results and engage with international experts working in the fields of industrial ecology, sustainable energy systems and resource management. The presentation generated interest among researchers and practitioners attending the conference, fostering exchanges on methodologies and future research directions.
The HYDRA consortium congratulates Juan Manuel Campos Rodriguez and the University of Valladolid team for successfully representing the project at this prestigious international event and for contributing to the visibility of HYDRA’s research within the global scientific community.
